The citation describes an indexed 1940 census entry for Anton Wm Tarber, age 31, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, living in Elizabeth Tarber's household with wife Ella. This fits the claimed residence, the 1908 birth year and the household. With no image, the entry can only be consistent. The Tarber/Tauber spelling is a likely transcription variant but cannot be confirmed here.
Matches: Indexed name "Anton Wm Tarber" is a plausible variant of Anton William Tauber; Age 31 in 1940 implies birth about 1908–1909, matching the 1908 birth year; Place is Chicago, Cook, Illinois, matching the claim; Household described as his mother Elizabeth's with wife Ella, matching the claim's note
Limits: No record image attached; only the citation text and index details are available; Surname is indexed as "Tarber", so identification as Tauber rests on the variant spelling and the household context; Census gives an age and residence, not a birth date or place; Mother and wife relationships are taken from the note, not checked against the record
